About
Jacqueline Steinhoff (born 1966) is a youth health care doctor and, since completing her training in creative arts (Stichting Kreatieve Edukatie Amsterdam, 2003), has specialized in graphic art, particularly linocuts.
Jacqueline lives and works in Amsterdam, Holland.
Her first linocuts were single-colored. Over time, they became more complex, and she specialized in the reduction technique. This technique is destructive: with each printing run, a piece of the linocut is lost to gain another color. This limits the print run because the linocut is ultimately "cut up."
Jacqueline's work is figurative. She has a love for narrative in art, as she recognizes in Japanese woodcuts. She appreciates the vulnerability of the moment and uncanny perspectives. She enjoys involving the viewer in her work through the recognizable situations she evokes: "art is all around us in everyday life." The Dutch masters of the seventeenth century are her inspiration for her still lifes.
Her linocuts are for sale. The image size from those here on the website is 15-20 cm (except the Tarot cards). The original linocuts come with a standard white passepartout of 24-30 cm. Other sizes are also possible upon request. Because each print is unique, the actual print may vary slightly from the photo shown.
Send her an email if you're interested! Prices include shipping in Holland. For shipping abroad prices can be a little higher.
